Keystone believes in the importance of developing close relationships with families and recognizes the positive influence this has on children. We are always available to talk at any time.
All children have an online ‘Learning Journey’ that follows their progress during the time they spend with us. This helps us celebrate together their achievements and to plan and provide for the next steps of their individual learning journey.
Using the online learning journal, FAMLY, key workers record observations using words, photos, and video to make the learning visible and plan tailored activities that will encourage the next stage of their development. We actively encourage parents/carers to contribute to this and treat it as a shared document, one that we can all enjoy and that will be taken home to share with the family.
Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates. Our staff ensure there is a balance of challenging and enjoyable opportunities tailored to each child depending on their individual needs, including special educational needs.
We welcome children and families to our nurseries from a wide variety of backgrounds, ethnicities, and abilities, including those with special educational needs.
Our experience working in close partnership with parents and carers ensures we can offer dedicated support to families who may be experiencing difficulties.

We have a fundamental duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of every child. Our team maintains a vigilant approach, building a culture of safety through every aspect of our practice. If we have any concerns, our first step is to discuss them with parents/carers, unless we believe the child could be at further risk of harm.
Our Safeguarding policy is fully aligned with the guidance and procedures of our local Safeguarding Children’s Partnership. The policy is available for download on our About Us page, is posted in each of our nurseries, and you can request a copy at any time.
